Soy is a complete protein and it has been consumed for thousands of years in Asia. Research on phytoestrogens has shown no negative impact on adults (yes, that includes men!) or children, while showing a positive effect in reducing hot flashes and osteoporosis in menopausal women. In addition, Health Canada has found that consumption of soy protein helps to reduce cholesterol! We chose soy not only for its functional and health benefits, but also because it’s a local Canadian crop grown here in our backyards.
